Practice Philosophy
Since 1965, when Dr. James Winkler first opened this practice, it has been our goal to provide superior care and treat each patient as we would treat a family member. With this in mind, we have selected each staff member with care to assure that we have team members who can sustain our ongoing quest. We are proud to say that many of our staff members have been with us for 10 years or more, and we firmly believe that speaks to the service we provide.
Mark Winkler, DDS
“Dr. Mark” is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the Medical College of Virginia. He began practicing dentistry with his father at this office in 1990. He and his wife, Cheri, have two beautiful daughters. They reside in Fairfax Station. Dr. Mark is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and golf.
Neil Charaipotra, DDS
“Dr. Neil” joined our practice as an associate dentist in 1999. He obtained both his undergraduate and DDS degrees from the University of Tennessee. He became a partner of the practice in July 2002. Dr. Neil, his wife, Puja, and his three children reside in Oakton. Dr. Neil enjoys all sports and outdoor activities, as well as traveling and movies.
Judith R. Coulter, DMD
Dr. Coulter has been an associate of our practice since April 1995. She is a graduate of Emory University and the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. Prior to settling in Virginia, Dr. Coulter has worked in Maryland, Kansas and Washington State during her husband Eric’s military career. She and Eric reside in Annandale with their three daughters. Dr. Coulter enjoys fitness and reading in her spare time.
Erol J. Kanli, DDS
Dr. Kanli is a graduate of Howard University Dental School. He joined our practice as a dentist in June 2010, however he had been a patient in our practice for more than 10 years prior. We feel that, since he has been on the “patient side”, he has a thorough understanding of our philosophy and focus on patient care. Dr. Kanli resides in Springfield.
Cindy Loayza, Practice Administrator
Cindy has been in dental practice management since 1989. She is a Virginia Tech graduate and worked on her Masters at Rutgers University. She enjoys the ever-changing nature of the medical field and strives to maintain a focus on excellent customer service within our office. She enjoys travel, cooking and family time. She resides in South Riding with her husband, George, and two sons.
Hygiene Staff:
Our hygiene department is comprised of a group of well-educated, professionals who thoroughly enjoy the field of dentistry and who have a complete understanding of comprehensive care. They are skilled in all aspects of hygiene responsibilities, including periodontal procedures, antimicrobial placement, oral cancer screening, and in-depth patient education. They work cooperatively with our doctors to provide you with an exceptional dental experience.
Reception Staff:
Our reception staff are the friendly faces you expect to see at each visit. With many years of service, they are extremely knowledgeable about both the services we provide and the integration with your insurance benefits.
Dental Assistants:
Our dental assistants are truly the doctors’ extra hands. They are skilled at keeping your appointment running smoothly by anticipating their doctors’ next step throughout the appointment. They are well educated about our procedures and post-operative instructions and strive to make your appointment as comfortable as possible.
